After 2 Saturdays of furious fights on the boards, Albrecht Heeffer has become the Belgian Champion for the year 1997.
Unfortunately, after 5 rounds 3 players had the same amount of points.
This meant that a play-off had to take place. It was decided that first there was going to be an all-play-all 3 round play-off, and then in case the scores were equal again, a quick-play with instant drop-out.
